My nursing experience has run the gamut from the Emergency Dept to school nursing. Although the richness of these experiences has greatly varied, there is one consistent theme: physical wellbeing cannot be achieved in the absence of mental health and stability. In addition, working with diverse populations and individuals in various levels of distress and disequilibrium, highlighted the lack of knowledge with respect to mental illness and need for quality mental health care as mental health and stability is the foundation of success in all other areas of functioning,
These varied nursing experiences also highlighted my strengths, and my calling became crystal clear. To that end, my practice is guided by the following principles: 1) provide evidenced based holistic care responsive to the needs of those that I serve, 2) cultivate effective, working relationships with those that I serve as well as other members of the treatment team and 3) provide appropriate education to empower clients/families to make informed decisions regarding their treatment. Beyond this and equally important, I approach every client interaction and intervention with the same thoughtfulness, care and unconditional positive regard that I would want a member of my own family to receive.

bachelor’s degree in psychology and I am an LMSW with 5 years of experience working with
adults living with mental illness in residential, inpatient, and outpatient settings. Providing

My approach to therapy is using Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) to help clients reduce
symptoms of depression, anxiety, and other mental conditions. However, through my
experience, I’ve learned to be adaptable using Motivational interviewing, Dialectical Behavioral
therapy (DBT), or whatever modality fits the client’s needs. I believe that maximum input
equals maximum output, so I aim to bring my best effort forward every day and I’m looking
forward to meeting and working with you all.

My goal is to make my clients feel comfortable. My focus is on allowing you to comfortably open up and explore the areas of life that may be a challenge. My specialties include Substance abuse, Depression, anxiety, and grief therapy. We as people are often too hard on ourselves. It is so easy to find the good in others while we struggle to find the good in ourselves. I like to help clients find the positive and strengths within themselves, while challenging areas such as negative self-talk.
My ultimate goal as a clinician is to create a positive, open space to allow clients to process areas of difficulty safely. I want to create the opportunity for clients to learn how to navigate thoughts, feelings, and behaviors so that upon discharge they will be able to use the skills learned in therapy to continue to grow.

Practitioner (PMHNP). I provide Medication Management for individuals with mental health
concerns. I also refer patients for talk therapy if necessary.
I started out as a Medical Surgical Nurse. I spent about 5 years practicing on the medical side of
nursing. I've always had a passion for mental health and after gaining medical experience I
decided to make the transition to mental health nursing.
I really enjoyed helping individuals and families through some of the toughest times of their
lives, which led me to pursue a career as a Nurse Practitioner. I am now able to help individuals
and families in a greater capacity.
My role as PMHNP is to assess, diagnose and treat the mental health needs of patients. I
specialize in providing medication treatments to adult patients experiencing Anxiety,
Depression, ADHD, Bipolar Disorder, and PTSD. I utilize evidence-based practices to provide
optimal patient-centered care.
I understand that the patient-provider relationship is paramount to success and that to provide
the best possible care there needs to be a strong rapport.
As a Mental health professional, I will utilize a variety of screening tools to assess one's mental
health and well-being. Purposes for these tools include screening for the presence or absence
of common mental health conditions; making a formal diagnosis of a mental health condition;
assessment of changes in symptom severity; and monitoring client outcomes across the course
of therapy. Tools often used include general Intake forms, the GAD7 anxiety scale, the PHQ9
depression scale, and others depending upon reported symptoms.
